Bottles and Brushes with Degas: A Painting and Pouring Experience
New Orleans, LA – Beginning March 22nd 2011, the Edgar Degas House and Foundation will host a one of a kind painting and pouring experience every Tuesday entitled “Bottles and Brushes with Degas”.
Each event will commence at 5:30 PM at the Degas House (2306 Esplanade Avenue), beginning with a social hour. Painting instruction will follow at 6:30 PM.
At $40 per attendee, the program will include one complimentary adult beverage. All necessary art supplies are supplied by the Edgar Degas Foundation, including canvases, paints, and brushes. Participants must reserve in advance, directly through the Degas House. Bridal showers, bachelorette parties, corporate retreats, and various other types of private parties can be accommodated.
Held within the same walls where Degas painted some of the world’s most adored masterpieces, the program is a rare opportunity for artists and non-artists alike to come be inspired where Degas was inspired!
Each week, participants will draw from their own creativity, a positive attitude, and a glass of wine or two as they recreate Degas-inspired art pieces and iconic New Orleans images. With a local artist lending expertise, people of varying artistic ability will discover their inner Degas and, by the end, they may even walk away with their very own masterpiece.
By connecting participants with Degas’ New Orleans legacy, “Bottles and Brushes” is an educational, social, and relaxing experience.
