Good design never goes out of style.
The sign above is seen everywhere in Paris and has been used there since the 1800’s. Napoleon Bonaparte wanted a beautiful nameplate hung on the cornerpiece of all streets. In the mid-1800’s porcelain plaques like the one seen above were ordered to be made of white numbers and letters, on an azure blue background, framed in green.
Since Faubourg St. John is inextricably linked to the French having been founded by French settlers, would it not be appropriate to have signs such as the one above placed on the entrances to our neighborhood?
