A contract was signed with Durr construction last week for the construction of two 18-hole miniature golf courses at City Park.
Construction should commence within three or four weeks. One of the courses will be New Orleans themed and the other Louisiana themed. Both will feature abundant landscaping along with flowing water.
Via the generosity of a local foundation, both courses will be 100 percent ADA accessible.
The two courses will be built across from Storyland and adjacent to the Goldring / Woldenberg Great Lawn.
A public bid for the construction of the miniature golf clubhouse will be let on Monday. Both projects are scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2013. Along with ticketing, the clubhouse will also feature two party rooms.
Generous individuals, companies and nonprofits have sponsored 31 of the 36 holes on the golf courses. One of the two 18-hole courses has also been sponsored. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please contact John Hopper at [email protected] or call him at (504) 259-1509.
