The adult “speed” tournament will once again start at 10:00am this Saturday, September 28. Being the last Saturday of the month, you will be allowed to choose your own partner this week. You MUST arrive at least twenty minutes early so that we can figure out appropriate seeding. Please humor us!

No-one wants to go to the doctor and be given a diagnosis of cancer! MCVG will be collecting donations for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer fundraiser throughout the month of September. Breast cancer facts:
In 2011, approximately 39,520 women are expected to die from breast cancer; only lung cancer accounts for more cancer deaths in women.
Breast cancer incidence rates are higher in non-Hispanic white women compared to African American women for most age groups, but African American women have a higher incidence rate before 40 years of age and are more likely to die from breast cancer at every age. Hispanics and other ethnic groups have a lower incidence of breast cancer.
Women who consume more flaxseed have an 18% lower risk of the disease.
Approximately 1% of breast cancers occur in men.
Congratulations to Bart Everson!
Bart won the Cox Conserves Hero of the year. A $10,000 check has been awarded to FOLC in Bart’s name… our volleyball group may end up on the Lafitte Greenway, so contributions like this can only help our chances of having a permanent home there.
