Bastille Day Celebration!

Celebrate Bastille Day in the original neighborhood of the French Creole aristocracy. The 2014 Faubourg St. John Bastille Day celebration will be on Saturday, July 12, 2014, between 5:PM and 9PM with food, music and children’s activities. At 5PM the band Harmonouche with Raphael Bas and Norbert Salma will begin playing. At 5:30 Cynthia Scott will sing her powerful rendition of La Marseillaise. The High Ground Drifters will play from 7PM to 9PM. Meet, Eat, Dance in the streets with us!
Participants include Café Degas, Canseco’s Grocery, Fair Grinds Coffee Shop, Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association, Liuzza’s by the Track, Nonna Mia Restaurant, Pal’s Lounge, Santa Fe, Swirl Wines, Tutti Fruiti, Terranova’s Grocery.
Bastille Day in Faubourg St. John will have a contest for the Best Napoleon /Marie Antoinette costume with a gift certificate as a prize.
Pal’s will have gingerita, watermelon mojito and white wine sangria.
Santa Fe will have margaritas, sangria, empañadas and burritos.
Swirl will have wine and beer.
