Hello one and all,
As you can imagine, we are pleased to be back home, following nearly three months of travel and some excellent shows and new friends. This is exactly what sustains us out there – that and the geographic, geologic, and culture-ific wonder that is America.
First of all, thanks to everyone who participated in our free download of “Blackwater Music”. Today is the final day, so get with it if you haven’t already! Because we are approaching December and our thoughts are turning to gifting our friends and relations, Spencer is offering a special for December only. When you buy any 2 CDs of your choice from his website, we will add a FREE CD of Spencer’s roots-rock classic PRESENT TENSE!!! Recorded in 1995, PRESENT TENSE features 10 Spencer Bohren originals with Reggie Scanlan and Frank Bua of the now-legendary New Orleans Radiators in the rhythm section and the inimitable Bengt Blomgren from Sweden on electric guitar. So share some music with this gift from Spencer to you.
There are, of course, a couple of New Orleans shows this month . . .
Thursday December 8
OGDEN MUSEUM OF SOUTHERN ART, 925 Camp Street, presents Spencer Bohren at its Ogden After-Hours Series. Showtime is 6 pm.
Thursday, December 22
SNUG HARBOR, 626 Frenchmen Street. It’s time for Spencer’s annual Snug Harbor Christmas Party. Shows are at 8 and 10, with a musical cast of friends to include Camile Baudoin, new New Orleanean Mark Growden, the reimagined Impossible Cases featuring Reggie Scanlan and Andre Bohren, Dave Pomerleau and Harry Hardin from Johnny Sketch reincarnating Hank Williams, Natalia Cascante, M’belia Meekers, Mike Pearce, Robert Eustis, and of course our daughter Corinna who will be home for the holidays. And yes, Andre Bohren will perform his annual classical piano wizardry. And there will be more . . . Now is the time to make your reservation – that first show often sells out
